About This Event
Tôr Fair 2026 An event devoted to families with a wide-ranging programme. 4th to 6th September 2026 +info
The village of Tôr, part of Loulé municipality, hosts its annual fair from 4–6 September 2026, a family-focused celebration with a wide-ranging programme of activities and entertainment.
This traditional fair captures the spirit of rural Algarve community life, offering a more authentic alternative to the coastal resort scene. Expect a mix of agricultural displays, local food and drink, craft stalls, and entertainment that appeals across generations.
The three-day format allows the fair to build momentum, with different activities and performances scheduled throughout. Families will find plenty to keep children engaged, from traditional games to live music and street entertainment.
September timing is ideal, falling after the peak tourist season when the weather remains warm but the intense summer heat has eased. Locals return to normal rhythms after August, making this a genuine community celebration rather than a tourist-focused event.
Tôr sits in the countryside north of Loulé, about 25 kilometres from the coast. You'll need a car to reach the village, but the drive through the rural interior offers pleasant scenery and a glimpse of agricultural Algarve.
Bring cash for purchases and refreshments, as village fairs don't always have card facilities at every stall. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, and sun protection remains important in early September.
Allow several hours to explore properly, sample local foods, and soak up the atmosphere. The fair offers an opportunity to experience traditional Algarve culture and mingle with local families enjoying their annual celebration.
