Three days and nights of Afrobeats, amapiano and R&B on Praia da Rocha — the headline summer music festival in the Algarve, drawing an international crowd from the UK, US and across Africa.
Afro Nation is the largest Afrobeats festival in the world and Portimão's Praia da Rocha is its spiritual home. Three days, multiple stages right on the sand, and a lineup that consistently lands the biggest names in Afrobeats, amapiano, dancehall and contemporary R&B.
The crowd is heavily UK-skewed, with strong American and West-African contingents. Accommodation books out for the wider Portimão/Alvor/Lagos triangle 6+ months in advance — if you're flying in, lock lodging early.
The festival operates a cashless wristband-top-up system. Praia da Rocha has direct walk-up beach access for ticket holders.
