A one-day open studios event in Loulé — local artists throw their doors open so you can see the work, the space, and the process behind it.
Open studios days are one of the better ways to actually meet the people making art in the Algarve, rather than seeing finished pieces hung on a gallery wall. For one Saturday, Loulé-based artists unlock their working studios — painters, ceramicists, printmakers, sculptors — and let the public wander in.
You'll get to ask the questions you'd never ask in a gallery: how long did that take, what's the technique, where do you buy the materials. Most studios will have work for sale, often at noticeably better prices than the gallery markup.
Pair it with the Saturday morning mercado municipal and you've got a proper Loulé day out. Wear comfortable shoes — the studios are scattered across the old town and you'll do a fair bit of walking.
