Three-day medieval-themed fair in the hilltop village of Salir — costumed processions, period markets, jousting, falconry and street food in one of the Algarve's most atmospheric inland villages.
Salir no Tempo turns this hilltop Loulé village into a medieval theme park for three days each July — costumed processions through the narrow cobbled streets, period markets, jousting demonstrations on the edge of town, falconry displays, and a tavern strip serving roast pork, mead and regional wines.
The setting helps: Salir sits on a defensible ridge with ruins of an old Moorish castle still visible, and the village is small enough to be entirely walkable during the fair.
Cooler than the coast in mid-July evenings — bring a light layer for after sundown.
