You travel by catamaran or RIB, depending on availability, with the catamaran offering a smoother, more sheltered ride and the RIB providing a bit more speed and manoeuvrability. The route covers a substantial stretch of coastline, taking in sea caves, natural arches, and secluded beaches.

You launch from Portimão Marina, heading east along cliffs that rise in layers of ochre, amber, and rust-streaked sandstone. The boat follows the coast closely, slowing to enter the larger caves and passing beneath arches carved by millennia of wave action. The Benagil Cave is the centrepiece, a vast domed chamber with a circular opening to the sky and a small beach inside.
