The instructor demonstrates the technique, then watches as you practise the pop-up motion on dry land until the muscle memory starts to form. Once everyone has the idea, you head into the water.

The in-water portion is where the real learning happens. The instructor positions you in the right spot, helps you catch waves, and gives immediate feedback on your timing and posture.
