Lagos itself is one of the Algarve's most handsome towns, a mix of Moorish walls, Renaissance churches, and a working harbour that has been sending boats to sea for centuries. The old town is compact and walkable, with a covered market, a square lined with cafés, and narrow streets that open onto sudden views of the water. Your guide—subject to availability—will point out the details: the slave market building, the Igreja de Santo António with its gilded interior, the sections of wall that date back to the Moors. Beyond Lagos, the tour can take in the fishing villages of Burgau or Salema, the dramatic coast near Sagres, or the quieter inland towns where the pace is slower and the architecture less polished. Traditional markets, if they coincide with your visit, offer a glimpse of local life—fruit, vegetables, cheese, and the kind of practical goods that have nothing to do with tourism. The driver will know which villages are worth a stop and which roads offer the best views.

This is a private tour for up to six people, so the day is yours to shape. If you want to spend an hour at Ponta da Piedade and skip the market, that works.
