About This Event
A four-hour international endurance round with LMP2, LMP3 and GT3 machinery at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, 9–10 October.
The European Le Mans Series brings proper prototype racing to Portimão for a weekend: LMP2 and LMP3 cars sharing the track with GT3 machinery over a four-hour race on the Saturday, plus support races and open pit access across the weekend.
It is a considerably cheaper and calmer way to see top-level sportscar racing than the MotoGP circus six weeks later, and the paddock is far more accessible. If you have any interest in Le Mans-style endurance racing, this is the closest it gets to the Algarve.
Early October is one of the best months here — warm, quiet, and the sea is still swimmable if you want to build a weekend around it.

- Far cheaper and less crowded than the MotoGP weekend
- Main four-hour race is on the Saturday
- Circuit is inland near Mexilhoeira Grande, ~15 min from Portimão
- Early October is still beach weather — easy to pair with a coastal weekend
- Paddock access is usually included with general admission
