The Mercado de Culturas à Luz das Velas (Market of Cultures by Candlelight) transforms the historic centre of Lagoa into a magical, candlelit world for four nights, July 2–5, 2026. Thousands of candles line the streets as they come alive with concerts, street shows, artisan stalls, and food from around the world.
What to Expect
The market blends cultural performances with artisan crafts and international street food. As night falls, the candlelight creates an enchanting atmosphere unlike anything else in the Algarve. Expect live music, dance performances, theatre, and hands-on workshops alongside the market stalls.

Free entry. The event takes place in Lagoa's historic centre across four evenings. Lagoa is centrally located in the Algarve, a short drive from Carvoeiro, Silves, or the EN125.
