About This Event
Silves transforms into a medieval city for nine days of historical reenactments, jousts, Arabic-themed gastronomy, traditional music, and a costumed parade. One of Portugal's biggest and most atmospheric medieval fairs, set against the backdrop of Silves Castle.
Silves Medieval Fair 2026
The Feira Medieval de Silves is one of Portugal's most spectacular historical reenactments — and the setting is unbeatable. The whole town becomes a medieval city, with Silves Castle towering over costumed parades, sword fights, falconry displays, and Arabic-themed bazaars in the streets below.
What to Expect
- Costumed parade opening the festival on day one

- Artisan market with traditional crafts, leather goods, ceramics, and soaps
- Live medieval music every evening
- Falconry and equestrian displays in the castle grounds
- Children's activities — period costumes, archery, and storytelling
