About This Event
The Iberian Peninsula's biggest historic racing meeting brings 300+ cars and 500 drivers to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, 30 October to 1 November.
If you only go to one motorsport weekend in the Algarve, this is arguably the better one. The Classic Festival fills the Portimão paddock with pre-war grand prix cars, 1970s Le Mans prototypes, historic touring cars and Formula Ones — over 300 machines and 500 drivers from more than twenty countries.
The real draw is the paddock itself. Unlike modern race weekends, it stays open and informal: you can walk between the trailers, watch mechanics work, and talk to owners who are usually delighted to explain what you're looking at.
Late October in the Algarve is still warm enough for shirtsleeves in the afternoon. The circuit sits inland near Mexilhoeira Grande, roughly 15 minutes from Portimão.
