Walk along the dramatic cliffs at the southwestern tip of Europe, from the historic Sagres Fortress to the iconic lighthouse at Cabo de Sao Vicente (Cape St. Vincent).

This exposed clifftop trail follows the edge of the Algarve where it meets the Atlantic. The landscape is raw and windswept, with centuries of maritime history.

Trail Details

Follow the clifftop from Sagres village to the cape. The route is exposed with no shade. Return by the same route or arrange transport.

Start from Sagres village. Parking available at the fortress or in town. Bus service to Cape St. Vincent available in summer.
